Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
Tom Jones is a living legend. . . my grandma loved him! I don’t see how they can stop fans from singing Delilah, maybe humming it would be less offensive
A metal version of one of his finest:
A cover of Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song by Vanilla Fudge. I like this one better, the psychedelic sound gives it a more interesting vibe.
We finally got a decent snowstorm the other day, it was so pretty yesterday.
Today it’s melting into a big slushy mess.

The song Mississippi Queen by the band Mountain has some early metal sounds to it.
Ozzy does a very good cover version, but I think I like the original better. Lol at the keyboard player . . . so serious!

I've been catching up with these songs. I didn't know of the V.Fudge Immigrant Song cover - I'd have to give it a couple more listens to see which I prefer. I Prefer the Ozzy version of M.Queen by quite a lot. I like the Bowie song but I'm not keen on the Nirvavna cover.

Yeah, a lot of people aren't, but I actually prefer it. I think I like the string ending as opposed to the choir.

That is a lovely rendition of The House of the Rising Sun, it sounds like a lullaby.
I actually feel asleep listening to it
I was looking for a good cover version of the old song Blue Moon and came across this gem. I’d never heard of Gunhild Carling before, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunhild_Carling
I think she is just magnificent, so talented and very entertaining to watch!

You too! I hadn't heard that one. A Metallica cover of a Holocaust song:

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
The original Swan Lake Act 2 No. 10 by Tchaikovsky and a Metal version that sounds very beautiful as well.
Tchaikovsky’s ballets and music in general, make me think of this time of the year and the Christmas season.

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
It's a bit of a coincidence you posted that classical piece because I'd had these in mind:
Between the velvet lies, there's a truth that's hard as steel
The vision never dies, life's a never ending wheel - R.J.Dio

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
The original and cover made popular by Robert Palmer of Bad Case OF Loving You.

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
That's a good groovy song. I think I prefer the original. Robert Palmer is a bit of a smoothie.
