Bananarama does an over the top music video and excellent cover of Shoking Blue’s Venus.
The Original is very good, but I the 80’s!

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
^ First time I've heard the original. I prefer it slightly. This song is from 1966, an American band. The cover is by German metal singer Doro from 1990:

Oops. I just checked and I'd already done that song on Page 1. So here's another - Strutter, by Kiss then The Donnas:Sary wrote:^ I vote for Doro on this one.

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
I know, I have posted so many songs, it is easy to remember my favorites.
It is quite the play list!
Lol... I always thought they were saying “I had too much to drink last night “
It is a great song!
I have been listening to a little bit more of country music, trying to acquire a taste.
God bless America.
My girlfriends like the wholesomeness and positive vibe of country music , they hate metal music, I have no choice.... out voted, again.
Two versions of Shambala, I always thought Three Dog Night was the original.

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
I heard Helter Skelter a few days ago and I can’t get the song out of my head.
I am not a huge Motley Crue fan but, they do a very good cover.

There was a Japanese band call Vow Wow which covered that song (the bass player is Neil Murray, a Scot who has worked with Whitesnake and others):

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
"Delilah" is a song recorded by Welsh singer Tom Jones in December 1967. It was originally recorded by P. J. Proby in late November, 1967. Proby hated the song and refused to include it on his album Believe It Or Not, which was being compiled and recorded at the time . . . The lyrics were written by Barry Mason, and the music by Les Reed, who also contributed the title and theme of the song. It earned Reed and Mason the 1968 Ivor Novello award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. [Wikipedia]
And Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden:
