I can see why Dana won the contest, she sings and looks like an angel, so young and pretty. Women back then were much more feminine, maybe innocent is the word?
Unable to see the Lordi video, it is unavailable in my country.
Olivia Newton John also has a beautiful voice and look.  I don't think I ever saw the movie Xanadu but I probably saw Grease 50 times!

I've replaced the Lordi video ^^ with a copy and also put a link to the live performance.

Yeah Olivia. N-J is rightly famous, and a survivor. A Rainbow song also called Magic and a bit similar to that one:

The Lordi video with the monster/demon costumes is too much for my taste. The music is not very good either.
I heard this song today, while out driving, I think the video of perfect,  just the right amount of make up and theatrics...Motley Crue  Smile 1

Mötley Crüe were pretty heavy and borderline rock/metal - a type of band we don't see much now.

The Scorpions at their peak:

A good alternative if you can't get that one: https://youtu.be/TUWCdkzgfSo

The song Magic by Rainbow sounds more mainstream and pop then what I am use to hearing from them. Pop music can be very relaxing, pleasant, background music. I like to listen to it while I am working.
Catholic radio plays this Styxx song a lot. The video is very nice too.

Pretty impressive how polished the Scorpions sound live Thumb-Up

That's a nice song ^ Musically, it's quite like Prisoners In Paradise by Europe:

Here Comes the Sun has to be one of the greatest of all The Beatles songs.  In this song Paul and John take the backseat to George,  which makes it feel a little different, special in a way.
The video is very good too.

I think the only Wings song I knew was Live And Let Die. "Sun" is also one of my favourite Beatles songs.

Paul McCartney and Wings was a staple of 1970’s FM radio, here in the USA. So weird that you’re not familiar. So many great songs, part of the sound track of my childhood.

I heard this song today, as background music for some stupid commercial.

That's quite a good melodic light rock song ^ It's commonly asked which the best decade for music was, but I think the answer is a cross-decade and it is 1975-1984. Black Sabbath from 1976 (Ozzy) and 1981 (Dio) with two similarly themed songs:

Yeah, it does seem as though the music was better back in the 70/80's.
And a funny thing is, at the time I didn't particularly care for a lot of the the popular pop music songs that were geared toward older people.

Now, I am listening... rediscovering just how good some of these artists really were.
Bonnie Tyler has certainly stood  the test of time.
Her style reminds me a lot of Meatloaf.

That's because "Total Eclipse" was written by Jim Steinman who has also written most of Meat Loaf's best known songs and Tyler's "Holding Out For A Hero" Smile 1 Only two Steinman-penned songs were on Meat Loaf's third album, Bad Attitude, this being one of them:

Actually, I think Bad Attitude is the best Meat Loaf album.

Swedish guitar maestro Yngwie Malmsteen was (and probably still is) greatly inspired by Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore.
