Re: Now listening to . . .
I used to have a jacket very much like the one Bruce Dickinson's wearing here - black leather with tassles and studs on the back, but mine had more studs!
A perfect heavy pop rock song:

Black leather with studs and tassels...a real bad boy
I know that IM did a successful cover of this song, but I think U.F.O's original version is superior.

Re: Now listening to . . .
I once bought that UFO album on the strength of "Doctor Doctor" but the only other track I liked was this instrumental:
This instrumental is very heavy at the beginning and end but there's a wonderful melodic part in the middle:

I am listening to more UFO, the music is different...a little country maybe?
The instrumental is very nice too.
One more.

Re: Now listening to . . .
Yeah, that song does have a country vibe. UFO bass player Pete Way later had his own band called Waysted:
A song from the middle of Ozzy-era Black Sabbath. It has a hypnotic riff and mystical lyrics:

I really like the sound of Heaven Tonight, the music is unique, a perfect blend of different genres. The pink guitar in the video reminds me of this old 1980s song by the Fine Young Cannibals.
Black Sabbath is always a classic, A National Acrobat is a great song. The lyrics are especially poignant.

That song ^ has a typical 80's pop beat. This is late 80s but I only discovered it a few years ago:
A Deep Purple song which matches the Sunday night feeling

The 1980's new wave sound is so quirky, fun and very good to dance to
Don't Call Me Baby song reminds me of the B52's.
And another song from the same era, The Cult, a little gothic for the season!

A couple from Ozzy, the perfect music for a cool Autumn evening in October.
I especially like the video for Dreamer, it is very well done...beautiful in a melancholy way.

Re: Now listening to . . .
I've heard the B52s before, they seem like quite an original band. One of my best friends used to be into the Cult but they weren't metal enough for me "No More Tears" is deservedly one of Ozzy's best known songs. I was just watching him on TV with his wife and son talking about alleged paranormal stuff caught on film. You can sometimes hear the Beatles' influence in Ozzy's music, as in that second song.
These are gothic:

^ Very gothic indeed!
A song by the band Bloodrock. Frightening in a very real, cold hard slap in the face kinda way

Re: Now listening to . . .
Yeah ^ that's why I prefer fantasy horror. There are some songs that I think are good but still don't like to listen to.
Judas Priest, with lyrics written from a vampire's point of view:
A dark romantic song from Tarja Turunen:
And a set of Halloween songs would not be complete without:

Re: Now listening to . . .
Truth be told, I have had my fill of vampires and witches. Reality is scary enough with out adding to my mental pollution. This whole year has pretty much been a nightmare.
The Alice Cooper addition is very nice, he is awesome.
But... Seeing that it is Halloween and a tradition to post festive songs, something whimsical from the Crazy World of Arthur Brown.
I think AC would approve.
And on an even lighter note, George Harrison

I'm sure Alice would approve!
The trouble is, a lot of people now lack patience and start celebrating Halloween at the beginning of October so they've lost some of their enthusiasm when the actual date arrives. But I think I can both indulge Halloween and stay on your lighter note with this song:

Re: Now listening to . . .
Two songs from later decades that were strongly inspired by the 1950s:
EDIT: UtMoL is apparently a song from 1961, but that's close enough to the 50s.
