There is a thunderstorm going on right now. This part of the world seems to be stuck in rainy weather pattern. I don't like thunder and lightning, it is not too bad now
Every day rain and the the sun peaks through for maybe an hour or two.
At least we are not on a drought, the well is full!

Hmm. I see there are currently storms all over the US and Central America and none in northwestern Europe. But I love thunderstorms! They are dramatic and romantic and there's a feeling of peace and refreshment when it's over. Thunderstorms are nature's heavy metal  Headbanger

Thunderstorms are nature's heavy metal.....I will  try to remember that!
There were more thunderstorms ,over the past two days.
My poor dog was having a nervous breakdown.  He gets so anxious, and very hyper.

So,I made him a hide out/safe  down in the basement.  I used a small table and some blankets, put  his toys in there and turned on a fan to drown out the noise.  I stayed with him in there for a little while too LOL 1
So romantic!

Today it is finally clearing up, low humidity with a nice breeze.  The storms have all blown out into the Atlantic.

I like this lightning map, I book marked it for future use!

We've had some small storms in the last two days amid the heatwave.

BBC: "The UK has had its hottest July day on record, with temperatures reaching 38.1C (100.6F) in Cambridge."

I ate about four ice lollies last night and will probably finish the rest tonight.

We've had hot days followed by lighting storms these past several weeks. It's been pretty interesting. Two days ago, a storm blew one of the local trees down over a power line, and we were out of power for two or three hours.

We're having another mini heat-wave and it's been 28°C today in my part of the country. Thunderstorms are forecast for tomorrow and they will be welcome. This heat is so tiring.

EDIT 1: No storms today, so hopefully tomorrow. Dreadfully hot again, sapping my energy and enthusiasm.

EDT 2: We've not had any real storms, but lots of rain and the temperature is back down to something like normal, thank God.

I was just about to say almost exactly what I'd posted above. We've had almost a week of tempetatures in the high 20s (centigrade) - very oppressive. A storm was forecast but we didn't get any.

It’s been a very hot dry summer here too, today we finally got a good soaker, when the thunderstorms rolled through. Tomorrow it will be 90 degrees again.
The extreme weather does not seem to bother me like the way it used to.
I’ve somehow grown to appreciate the change of seasons, the snowy frigid New England winters and hot summers. Spring and Fall are especially comfortable times of the year.

It seems kind of unbelievable that lack of water should be a worry in this day and age.
After all, the earth is made up of over two thirds water.
And you would think that it would be a simple formula to manufacture H2O, but it’s not.
I imagine some day we will have the technology to harness the energy from fusing hydrogen + oxygen to generate electricity.
Or some other solution to drought and lack of water.
https://www.scienceabc.com/pure-sciences/why-dont-we-just-make-water-chemically-in-a-lab-hydrogen-oxygen.html
The problem with manufacturing water
It is not as easy as it appears to be. Combination of hydrogen and oxygen atoms is accompanied by release of tremendous amount of energy.

Hydrogen, being the simplest element in the world, consists of only 1 electron in its orbit. Oxygen on the other hand, has 6 electrons in its outermost orbit, 2 short of a completely filled outermost shell. There is an energy barrier which has to be overcome to bring these two elements together.

Also hydrogen is a highly flammable gas and oxygen supports combustion, so what happens when they come together, that too in large quantities? Take a guess.

This chemical reaction, when occurs, produces a large amount of energy, which may amount to a full scale, deadly explosion. This is exactly what happened in the Hindenburg Disaster in 1937.
