Does France have a wolf problem?

here in the US, we are told that wolves never attack people and have never attacked anyone. I don't think I believe that. I'm sure that thinking comes from us being so detached from nature. That being said, I don't think they actively seek out humans at all.

As much as I like wolves and I understand their role in the ecology of their environment, I think that farmers have a right to defend their flocks.
