A .5 magnitude tremor is very small, I doubt if you could even feel it.
Fracking creates new jobs and has helped America to become energy independent.
The Democratic Party here, would like nothing better than to implement The Green New Deal, which would among other things call for the nationalization of our energy industries.
I guess that some folks believe that by ending capitalism, climate change will reverse itself and the earth will no longer have heatwaves, droughts, fires, tornadoes and hurricanes.

I am not surprised that you can not see the Michael Savage YouTube. He often talks about being banned from the U.K on his show.
He is hoping that the ban will be lifted, as he is very fond of England in particular.

Electric cars are very expensive, a doctor that I work with drives a fancy Tesla.
Some police cars are being replaced with Tesla’s, they are not for the average working Joe.

Are all the energy and water suppliers in the U.S. private companies, or are some owned by state governments or the federal government?

The British utilities were privatised from the mid 80s to to the mid 90s. Their profits have increased quite a lot in recent years but prices are medium compared with other European countries:

I am not sure if all of our energy and water companies are privately owned and I am no expert in economics but, I do know that here in the USA energy prices are much lower compared to other countries.
The big oil and electric companies are owned by share holders and investors. Regular working people with IRAs, pension funds, and 401k who's future is heavily invested in the stock market.
I don't see how it would be fair for the government to come in and take over these privately owned companies, resources and wealth.
To me that sounds like stealing.
Next they will come for banking system....full government control in order to
Save the planet.
