I wonder about yout opinion about front national party in France.
As a french I might be to concern to have a logical thinking about them.

I trully respect them for all they bring to the nationalist ideas in France.
But during the last presidential election, Marine Le Pen show a strange face during the last debate. It was like she was only able to make provocation. I doubt that this party is able to lead France.

Do you think I should vote for them or for another nationalist/patriot pArty?

What are the other French nationalist parties? Is there a member of FN who would be a better leader than Marine?

There is Nicolas Dupont Aignan (Debout la France).
He allies with Le Pen for the second turn of the presidential.
I see him as a more competent and smart guy

Post Gaut Sun 11 Jun - 9:52

Marine Le Pen is doing great in debates where she is under attack. Other than that not so much. I personally think that it was a grave mistake of her to bring up Emmanuel Macron's homosexuality in the last stages of the campaign. That should have been brought up much earlier or not at all. It is something people should have heard about but it is not a matter of great political importance. It is also generally unwise to speak too much about the opponent. The first and final pledge should be to the French electorate from whom a politician is seeking a majority.

Towards the end of the campaign this year I started to realize that Marine had a very slim chance of winning. Unfortunately it seems that the turnout reflects what the voters are feeling. There are apparently many people in France who are not attracted by the Front National. On the other hand, there is still hope for the party. A candidate for the Front National has never been more successful than this. The votes in the final round of the 2017 presidential election turned out as follows:

Votes for Macron: 41,7%
Votes for Le Pen: 21,4%
Blank / invalid votes: 11,5%
Abstaining: 25,4%
___________________________
TOTAL: 100%

The great challenge for the Front National lies in attracting more votes from those who did not choose one of the candidates. I believe that this can be done through a combination of classical, unashamed, unapologetic nationalism in the tradition of Marine's father Jean Marie Le Pen with a style that appeals also to people who have often felt excluded by nationalists: Artisans and various outsiders and minorities within the aboriginal French population. That also reflects my own position. There is no reason why such people shouldn't be nationalists.

I also think that the party should be led by a man. A man of the character and style which I already described has the greatest chance of attracting many votes: Vigorous nationalism with an appeal to all the aboriginal French.

I disagree.
Jean marie Le Pen style of politic has indeed been great to destroy the taboo of immigration and nationalism.
But now, I think we have to climb another step. And for this we need coompetent guys wo can manage the country. We need more "clean" guys able to hold high position.
Provocation or vigurous nationalism will only afraid people. The tactic uses by marine works, she has attracts many voters who would have never supports his father.

Agreed. As long as people think they'll have blood on their hands (think Nazism), they won't vote nationalist. Better to show the humanity of nationalism. Those voters who want the hard talk will probably vote in that vein anyway, since there are so few options available.

On that aspect, I think nationalist politicians should be honest and direct about their values and goals. But it is essential they remain calm, polite and respectful. In political arguments, it is usually the liberals/cosmopolitans who start hurling insults; let them do it.

I think that Jean Marie Le Pen has showed the human face of nationalism much more than anyone else now living has. He has always been with the aboriginal French, always with a balanced approach, always even with a manner of expression which reflects a man of the people and not someone who looks down from a high position.

The fear will be that it turns toxic and attacks minorities. With the issues today of economic refugees/migrants and Islam, the lack of assimilation, violence and so forth, this seems within the realms of possibility.

I find their ideals quite commendable for their anti-EU stance that resonates with innate truths that takes an anti-populist stance. Parties that go against liberal corporatism that grants special "privileges" to certain organizations are usually parties that stand for the interests of one's own country first. Whereas populists inclined towards the politically-left spectrum in politics always seem to have a penchant towards undermining one's country that takes utilitarianism too far to irrational levels in favor for unskilled, mass immigration and oppressive organizations that seeks to undermine a country's infrastructure and taxes towards unneeded humanitarianism. Nevertheless, I would be inclined towards voting for them seeing that they are a prominent party that would better the native French population in the long run. Always stay strong to your own ideals regardless of what the biased media or lobbyists say. Who seek to undermine the native French identity and population who stand strong to France's foundation; will play a fundamental role in curbing unneeded immigration.

65% of french think there're too many foreigners in France.

60% of french think islam is not compatible with french society.

60% of french don't feel they're at their home country 'like before'. (before the massive influx of africans and arabs I guess)

http://www.lefigaro.fr/actualite-fra...s-francais.php

It seems a majority of french people agree with the nationalist anti-immigrantion anti-islam vision of Front National, but nevertheless a majority of them don't vote for FN and instead vote for Macron who is a pro-immigration and anti-nationalist (more or less).

Why this apparently contradictory behaviour in many french voters?

Maybe the blatant anti-UE position of FN, their fame of authoritarian, their pseudo-fascist origin when Jean Marie Le Pen was in charge...

Well, It's easy to say, but take the ideas that most french agree with and remove those who people reject and you will get a winner party.

That is a common straw man, if you ask me. Most politicians aren't competent in the ordinary sense of the word, and they don't need to be, because there are civil servants to do the detailed research for them. Good politicians make good decisions.

True. Marine Le Pen is the worst thing for FN.
Grotesque, the tv show versus Macron was just a joke.
At least, I don’t like MMLP too, arrogant and I’m bored to Le Pen dinasty.
I think a man like Le Bay is so far better. Smart dude, handsome, entrepreneur and very quiet guy.

The problem with FN is the bad marketing around the party, thank’s daddy Le Pen.
And the vision of the party about economy or ecology’s is just ridiculous.
Remember the fact MLP, saying she is against green energy and want to stop it, at least green energy working with wind.
