This was the runner-up to Bucks Fizz at Eurovision 1981 and I like it about as much. I don't remember any song in recent years of the same class:

You posted a song by this band not long ago (Snow White And Rose Red).

I know one group from Eurovision, ABBA gained worldwide fame after winning the contest in 1974.

Another song from a Swedish group , Roxette, who had some really good songs back in 80s/90s.

I heard this song the other day, really nice melody.

I'd heard of Roxette but didn't know they were Swedish. That song is a typical 80s power ballad and very reminiscent of Heart.

Two songs from the Boomtown Rats. The video for the first one is good quality considering the time but the sound volume seems to dip after the start then rise again at about 1:08. I think it's a cool song. The lyrics:

This second one is about the 1979 Cleveland Elementary School shooting in San Diego; Wikipedia: Spencer showed no remorse for her crime; her explanation for her actions was "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day."

I thought the same thing at first, when I was listening to the song Listen to Your Heart . I thought it was Heart singing it, but wasn’t sure so I googled it.
The Boomtown Rats are very charismatic and I bet put on excellent live performances.
I haven’t heard the song I Don’t Like Mondays in a long long time and never realized that the lyrics were so macabre. The first school shooting that I remember was Columbine.
I don’t like guns, but they are so ingrained into our culture, I don’t see Americans willingly giving them up. It is heartbreaking reading about the senseless school shootings.
Childhood is supposed to be a time of innocence, I feel sad for kids growing up these days, with so many horrible things going on in the world.

An old song by the band NRBQ, they still play small venues around here, country fairs and such.

That song reminds me of Mungo Jerry's "In The Summertime" which you probably know.

Another from the Boomtown Rats:

Iron Maiden with their first singer, Paul Di'Anno, performing live:

Like A Clockwork sounds psychotic, it makes me feel a little bit anxious.
Maybe if I listen to it a couple more times it will grow on me.

I heard the song Pictures of You, today on the radio and found myself really getting into it. The Cure is not the type of music that I usually listen to. I like some 1990s alternative music, it can’t be too depressing and Emo tho. The earlier music was better.

A classic upbeat summer party song by Journey, that reminds me of my youth  Smile 1

And one more song, by Queensryche, heavier and with an awesome video!
I really like the vocals on this song.

I'm getting around to fixing some new speakers to my computer, and when I do I'll listen to your latest posted songs. In the meantime, here's a fairytale in heavy metal style by Accept:

^^  One of my friends when I was in my late teens was into The Cure and other bands that were called goth. I was obsessed with metal and didn't bother looking into that scene. I quite like this song now which was covered later by Cradle Of Filth:

The Journey and Queensryche songs have good guitar solos. It took me a while to acquire a taste for those kind of high-pitched vocals in metal. To begin with I just looked for bands with singers like Dio and Bruce Dickinson.

Two lesser known Ozzy songs now. The first was the B-side to the "Crazy Train" single but I only knew it from the juke box at the bikers' pub in town. The second was only on the U.S. edition of the album Bark At The Moon so I didn't hear it until years later.

I never knew any songs by The Sisters of Mercy or Cradle of Filth, it sounds very 90s to me. I like the the video too. It’s really is a shame that the goth genre of music has died down. It will probably come back around again sooner or later.

Two great  songs by Ozzy, you really can’t go wrong there!

The low tone growling sounds that is heard in a lot of metal music is something that I am acquiring a taste for.
If I had to choose
High pitched shrieking and soaring vocals are more appealing to me.

It can take a while to get used to different vocal styles, or even certain singers. Two examples of the styles you mentioned, though the first one contrasts harsh male vocals with operatic style female singing:

I like high pitched operatic vocals and weirdly they blend very nicely with metal music, somehow balancing, evoking strong emotions.
I can’t see the the Deep Purple video.
I don’t know too many of their songs but this is a good one, pretty with melancholy feeling to it.

A Christmas song from the same era, that has a similar sound.
