Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
I never saw the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s but, I love the song Moon River. It has a soothing melody and beautiful lyrics.

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
The melody of Moon River reminds me of the title song of the James Bond film Goldfinger.

I think the original will surprise you a bit (or a bite)

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
I like the Doro version of Whiter Shade of Pale even better than the original.
Heart came out with a string of hit songs when I was in junior high school, listening to their music is like entering into a time machine.
I heard Magic Man on the radio the other day and Googled a cover. I found this version of MM by Kelly Maglia.
She puts a very burlesque Glam 1980’s signature to the song, a little heavier too.
Warning PG 13 video

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
The cover sounds significantly different to the original, which I prefer. I might get a Heart compilation album since I like a few of their songs.

And a cover by the late great Olivia Newton John:

A Romanian band covering You're The One That I Want and then Judas Priest:

The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown) - 1970

I prefer the cover version by Judas Priest, both are really good though. Added to my library.

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
A faithful and good cover. The guitar solo was quite accurate.

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
I was looking for covers of Shoot to Thrill and found this one by The Iron Cross.
Once again another faithful and good cover by a female vocalist.

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
I would prefer all AC/DC songs with a woman singer to take off the rough edges.
Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde playing and singing Black Sabbath's "N.I.B." on a toy guitar:

Re: Song Cover-Versions & Originals
I like the raw vocals and high energy that go along with AC/ DC songs, not an easy song for a woman to pull off keeping the same speed and volume .
An interesting cover with a trippy video of Dear Prudence.
I don’t think it’s as good as the original, but I’m sure John would approve.
