Favorite sports?

Post Jehan I on Sun 25 Jun - 10:20

In Europe the most popular sport is obviously football, unfortunetly this sport is now a big business and that create many troubles. A lot of non europeans players who behave likes animals, fixing games, doping....

I use to like as a child, but now I turn myself to rugby and ice hockey.

Which sports do you enjoy?

I was an above average football (soccer) player at school, about top 20%. I'm not a very fast runner but I have quick reflexes and liked tennis for a while. Now I prefer table-tennis and also like archery and fencing Fencers I should do more sport.

With football, I still like watching the World Cup and Euro Championship but I lost interest in club competitions. It's too commercial now and they are just teams of mercenaries.

Well, Its quite a nice topic. I would like to say that I am a big lover of Cricket. It is not much popular in the USA but Still, I love it. It is quite an energetic and good sport. I like it as a viewer and as a player as well.

I don't really understand bat and ball games, but it might be cultural. Not popular at all in France.
Isn't the game too long?

I didn't think many Americans even knew about cricket! Is it played in schools at all? I played it a bit as a child/teenager and I was a pretty good spin-bowler. But we mostly played soccer and sometimes tennis.

I remember at school they told us that in France you play a game called pelota.

Pelota? Do you mean "pelote basque"? It's a regional sport who are close to only play in the basque region. And the sport is a bit like squash.
Other this one, I don't see which sport it can be.

Yeah, this.

Wikipedia says it's also played in Belgium and northern Italy.

I like handball, tennis and a bit football.
Practicing myself swimming, paddle and tennis.

Anyway, I like e-sports too. Here we have a national league of e-sport, but it’s not really average at the moment in Europe.
They talking about including e-sport in Olympics games.

Yeah, and Blackpool Tower is based on the Eiffel Tower, which I suppose is obvious!

Oh, definitely more Robin Hood  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbCOkO0EhXU  Smile 1

But here is a real-life Legolas:
