Re: Now listening to . . .
The lead singer of Stratovarius reminds me a little bit of Ronnie James Dio.

An unusual band, though reminiscent of Queen:
And this is Queen with one of their heaviest songs, from the film Highlander:

Haha, Sparks is very unique is it disco? I love it!
Queen has always been a favorite of mine. Freddie looked so strong and healthy in that video, such a talented performer.
Great song!

About Sparks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparks_(band)
I was watching the video below and found out that Toni Basil choreographed the film American Graffiti which Sary posted in the Old Film Trailers thread - coincidence! Or that's what we call it

Re: Now listening to . . .
Check out a young Ted Nugent on lead guitar, before he went solo.
He sure can play!

Re: Now listening to . . .
That reminds me of Uriah Heep, but I settled on this:
No one in the audience taking photos with smart phones, and having better memories for it.

Re: Now listening to . . .
I never thought Ted Nugent was anything like Uriah Heep, maybe a little with the 1960s style? I must admit that I am a fan I saw the motor city mad man in concert a couple of times, back in the day.
I love REO speed wagons style of music. They remind me of other popular 1980s bands like Toto, Styx and especially Journey.
Steve Perry has a very good voice.

Re: Now listening to . . .
The only Journey song I'm familiar with is Wheel In The Sky which I do like. The first TN song you posted sounds similar to Uriah Heep on their Very 'Eavy Very 'Umble album. I don't really know Nugent's music but I always remember this picture from a book of heavy metal album covers I've got:

That last Nugent song has a similar riff to this early Iron Maiden one:
Something quite different:

This is the only Uriah Heep song that I can remember.
Journey had many hit songs, they still get a lot of air play.
Wheel in the Sky is definitely one of their best.

Re: Now listening to . . .
That's a real hippy trippy rock song. I don't know a great deal of UH but my fave songs of theirs are Gypsy and Easy Livin':
Another song about a wizard. "In a 2005 interview with Metal Sludge, Black Sabbath bassist and lyricist Geezer Butler said the song's lyrics were influenced by the wizard Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings. It was also believed to be about the band's drug dealer at the time." (Wikipedia)

A great Metallica song, said to be inspired by the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest:

Re: Now listening to . . .
Black Sabbath with Ozzy did some surprisingly melodic songs and instrumentals, one of the best being this:
This one is not even music but, somehow, I like listening to it:
http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=2957
This is a short instrumental song consisting of echo noises from lead guitarist Tony Iommi's crucifix, worn around his neck, knocking against his guitar with added echo "effects" - hence the title "FX." Iommi explained in his book Iron Man: My Journey through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath, "We were mostly naked at the time when we recorded [FX]... We started playing and were dancing around half naked, just being stupid. I hit my guitar with my cross, it went 'boing!' and we went: 'Ooh!' Everybody then danced past the guitar, hitting it."
