WATCH: Hilarious moment translator calls Theresa May 'MADAM BREXIT' during live conference

THIS is the moment a translator gave Theresa May a bizarre Brexit-related nickname during a live press conference in Poland.

PUBLISHED: 22:37, Thu, Dec 21, 2017

A translator interpreting Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki live mistranslated a part of his speech, calling Mrs May "Madam Brexit".

She said: "It’s very important for us that this cooperation, even though it will be based soon on different rules and different regulations then it has been so far because of Brexit.

"Because as Madam Brexit: said Brexit is Brexit."

Mrs May flew to Poland to ensure Britain's close relationship with Poland will continue after Brexit.

And she sent a clear warning shot to the European Union by signing a military deal with the eastern European country days after Brussels triggered a process that could see Warsaw lose its voting rights.

Britain and Poland will both put aside £5million for the project, which aims to coordinate military training, exercises and information sharing.

The Prime Minister said she was committed to working towards a closer relationship with the eastern European state after Brexit.

Mrs May said: "The relationship between Poland and the UK is based on shared history and shared traditions.

"A key priority is me to give assurance to the nearly 1 million Polish citizens living in the UK that we want them to stay.

"EU citizens living in the UK will have their rights protected. They will be able to go on living their lives as they were before."

Poland and the UK have been close military allies since Polish allies flew with the RAF during the Battle of Britain.

"Madam Brexit" sounds quite French Smile 1  "Madame Brexeet"

Everyone should remember that the EU is a set of rules, not a place.
